Important Issues
  • Drills each month begin promptly at 0730.  That means that members of NRAC need to be in the classroom, and ready to muster no later than 0730.  We have had a tremendous problem in the past with individuals coming in tardy, or even worse, not coming in at all!  You are expected, and signed a contract stating in the affirmative thereof, to be in attendance of EACH drill.  We have had too many shipmates processed out of the Navy, because he/she could not awake themselves in the morning.  When you are absent you will receive a mark of "U" (unauthorized absence), for each drill missed.  That is a total of four "U's" per drilling weekend.  With the awarding of the ninth "U," the Department of Navy begins administrative separation procedures.  After which you are no longer eligible for federal employment.  It is a very serious consequence.  IF an emergency arises, such as death, or serious illness, etc., you must call before 1400 on Sunday during drill weekend.  We can give an "AA" for authorized absence.  Almost all of you in the class have no problems with this at all.  Those that do know it; and I encourage you to rectify it.  Let's make each of our Navy careers as equitable and sustainable as possible!

  • Just a reminder the dress attire for the weekend is your utilities or coveralls.  However, you must have each component for the entire uniform being worn.  We are not allowed to wear an incomplete uniform.  Also remember that no unit or rating insignias may be worn until the completion of training at RTC Great Lakes.  If your uniform hasn't yet arrived, the dress is business casual.  This means no jeans, shorts, tee-shirts, etc.  Please use you best judgment in this process and bear with us as we try and acquire everyone's uniforms.

  • Good positive attitudes are an absolute must in NRAC!   Many coming in may be nervous or apprehensive. Negativity and being uncooperative will only add to uncertainties; and will have a devastating effect on your Naval career and that of your Shipmates'.  For example, if you feel you just can not remain awake with the rest of America during your times here, then stand in the back of the room. Do not sleep at your desk.  We are giving our all, we only ask that do as well!

  • For those of you with cell phones:  DO NOT allow them to ring while we are in the classroom.  If you can silence them, or place them on a vibration mode, you may leave them on.  If your phone doesn't have these options, leave it off, or don't bring it in the room.  Again, considerations will be made for those with extenuating circumstances.
